How do I submit to The Modernist Review?

Thanks for thinking of submitting! Please see the following guidelines:
  •  The word count is flexible, though we’d usually expect around 1,000 words as a maximum. Please check with us if you’d like to submit something longer.
  • Form is flexible, from traditional prose, to photography essays, to opinion pieces, to whatever strikes you as interesting about current work in modernist studies.
  • We welcome use of images in your blog post. However, please do check on rights before submitting. Again, get in touch if you need any help with this. The same applies to any sound or video clips you might want to use.
  • Anyone with an interest in modernist studies is eligible to submit. If you’re affiliated with a university, let us know; if not, tell us how you’re connected to modernism.
  • Prior to publishing on the site, we ask authors for a brief biographical blurb (max 200 words) in addition to your submission, along with your Twitter handle.
  • Please send us your work as a word doc (.doc) or pasted into the body of your email. You will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt.
  • The email address for submissions is editors@themodernistreview.co.uk
